A heavy jet lag, terrible weather and a beautiful city: Not the best combination to take some pictures. However I came across a few nice ones. (All taken about two months ago)
First time east coast, first time New York. A remarkable huge, loud and dirty place, but at the same time amazingly diverse and inspiring. I’m happy that I could extend my airport layover to some little parts of the city.
A little update from some of the nicer areas in San Francisco: The Twin Peaks, market Street, old Trams, a modern art gallery and a cafe.
LA is crazy, huge, dirty, ridiculous and impressing. I tried to find a word to describe all of that and the closest I came was the word above. However, I enjoyed my trip. But don’t try to get some rest when you stay at Hollywood boulevard :)
But let’s come to the best part of the trip: The landscape between LA and SF
Instead of showing a few typical turist pictures of my trip to Seattle, I decided get your attention a different side of the city: The smaller (or sometimes) bigger details and the scenes beside the tourist attractions.
Seattle has a actually functioning public transport system. And the most of the stations are also quite pretty.
Best way to get from the airport into the city is the light rail. You’ll have a nice view over the suburbs.
In case you ever visit the city, stop by chocolate factory shop (close to pioneer square).
The waterfront is kinda accessible, but you won’t find a public beach in the city centre.
I don’t think there’s a comment needed!
Haven’t found any real viking there, but …
… maybe that one counts :)
One of the most amazing (public) buildings I’ve seen in my life. The architecture is beautiful but functional as well. The right and bold usage of color, typography, materials, space and light forms an exceptional building. I was impressed!
The Amsterdam airport. A lovely place and so surprisingly dutch! Love it.
